News: Talking about DNA and the case of the Gilgo Beach murders

Dr. C had a few things to say about DNA evidence and the Gilgo Beach murders, focusing on 'discarded DNA' to solve cases on Scripps News' Morning Rush . Questions remain, beside the obvious utility in this and many other cases (such as the Golden Gate killer): discarded DNA does not require a warrant to be obtained, are we therefore moving into an era of genetic surveillance, a la Gattaca or a combination of AI and genetics as in Class of '09 ? Like AI, is it time to codify the use of 'discarded DNA'? For more on the legal murkiness of discarded DNA read: Legal Limits Murky for Use of 'Discarded' DNA and  The ACLU: Police Need a Warrant to Collect DNA We Inevitably Leave Behind Thank you  Scripps News  team for a great segment!
